Picnics in Jamaica Pond
Jamaica Pond is a great location with a maximum guest capacity of 50 people. This location is a unit of the “Emerald Necklace”, is a nature spirited foundation designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. The characteristics in the life grown from the peaceful grounds around the pond are soothingly serene. Tall, green trees hovering the pathway surrounding the water, provides mellow elements. Aside the 68 acre pond is a boathouse where many depart for a learning experience in sailing, rowing, and kayaking through the calm waters. This 53 foot deep pond, is the largest body of freshwater in the city. Neighboring the boathouse is a pavillion, convenient for any poor weather conditions, still granting you viewing access of the pond. This recreational, hidden gem is in the heart of Jamaica Plain, one of Boston’s most cultural neighborhoods. This canvas inspired, scenic site is admirable.
